Nostalgia
Aunty was heartened to see they were doing playful spankings back in grandma's day.
Of course, those were also times when spanking was very much part of the culture, so perhaps there was a lot more playful spanking going on.
Which means, it's a great pity cameras weren't as ubiquitous as they are now - it would be wonderful to see more images of classic bottom-beating fun.

Thanks for that, Aunty. I've always been a big fan of those old photos. What better way to see a picture of a good old fashioned spanking but in an old fashioned photograph!
