Bryan, thanks for responding ... I looked at collegehumor.com, and at least two of those paddling images were enough to make even me feel sick. Those frat boys are really crazy.
I've heard some of the fraternities at my school padddled to that extent but having never watched, I have no proof, but some of the sororites at my school paddle quite hard t pledge-in and leave marks for some time - nothing to that of course but still... that though was extremely severe.

I'm not one for paddling that heavy, but if I ever were to push my limits that much, it wouldn't be for some fraternity just so I can belong. That's the wrong reason to endure that in my opinion!
Auntie, Your right about them being crazy, never seen an ass brusied so badly as the guy they used 20 paddles on.

Phil - You'd be surpirsed at what you'd do when you are that age to fit in. I was barely 18 when I started pledging and I wanted more than anything to be a part of the Greek system, especially the hosue I joined, and was willing to do a lot, even endure intense paddlings, even if they weren't for good reasons. Perhaps now that I'm a little older, I might think differently but in the same right, I can totally understand where these pledges were coming from.
